Terms & Conditions
- When does it apply? The guarantee applies only when the Participating Hotels' local beaches are officially closed for reasons resulting from the current oil spill impacting the gulf region. Marriott will rely upon the decisions of official federal, state, and local government environmental advisory boards to determine when the local beaches are officially closed. Marriott's Beach Guarantee will be implemented at the discretion of Marriott, if limited beach closures occur in a region. Marriott's Beach Guarantee policy will be updated on Marriott News Center.
- What is the credit? The Credit given will either be:
• 50 percent of the nightly room rate secured by customer for each Qualifying Night, or
• for each Qualifying Night if the customer secured the room night by redeeming Marriott Rewards points.
- How do I receive the credit? The Credit is available to individual guests (leisure and business) for reservations made prior to the applicable beach closure. Individual guests will receive the Credit for each Qualifying Night of their reservation if they remain at the hotel for such nights. The following are the Qualifying Nights: a) the night prior to the announced beach closure, b) each night the beach is closed, and c) the night on the day of the beach reopening. The Credit will not be provided at any other times. (The credit does not apply to group guests. For group guests, please see condition number 7 listed below.)
- How can I use the credit? The Credit can be applied to any service (e.g., food and beverage, amenities, gift shop, etc.) offered by the Participating Hotel that issued the Credit. The Participating Hotel may have outlets within the hotel that are not operated by the hotel and may be exempt. The Credit may not be applied as a discount against the room rate and must be used prior to the customer's departure. The Credit is not redeemable for cash or Marriott Gift Certificates. The Credit is non-transferable. Unused portions of the Credit will be forfeited. No change or credit will be given on any unused portion of the Credit.
- Can I leave early or cancel? Individual guests may choose to leave if the Participating Hotels' local beaches are officially closed. Customers departing a hotel early due to a beach closure will be responsible for the payment of any goods and services provided by the hotel prior to the customer's departure.
Customers who have not yet arrived at a hotel who decide to cancel due to a beach closure may cancel without any liability. Also, customers redeeming Marriott Rewards points who have not yet arrived at a hotel who decide to cancel due to a beach closure will receive a complete refund of points redeemed.
- What if I am attending a group event? The rights of group attendees will be provided for in the group sales agreement signed by your host.
- When does the Guarantee end? Marriott's Beach Guarantee will be in effect through Labor Day (September 6, 2010).
